[2023] Jagex Account/Account Security Question

I’ve never had to reset my PW via email request so I’m just curious how this stuff works. My understanding is that prior to jagex accounts if you forgot your PW and lost your authenticator you could have your pw reset via email by selecting “forgot pw” is that correct?

With a jagex account if you forget your pw and lose your authenticator as well as your backup codes are you still able to do a pw reset via email? I’m just trying to figure out if my email is compromised with or without a jagex account would the hacker also be able to gain access to my RS account/Jagex account depending on which I have.
