[2021] Anyone else randomly have their game fix the damage mitigation issue?

So ever since the bad patch I’ve had the damage mitigation issue. I deleted and reinstalled the game. Didn’t work. I switched my armor off and on, didn’t work.

Weird thing about my game, not sure if anyone else encounters this, but whenever I switch characters, it acts like my health gets completely depleted and my screen flashes red like I’m at 1 health. Well today I was switching over armor pieces and weapons from my pyro to my techno main to upgrade, so i stripped my pyro naked, and when I was done I got back on my pyro and put my set back on. Jumped into an expedition and IMMEDIATELY noticed that I wasn’t getting absolutely wrecked. mitigation from death was working! I wasn’t getting shredded! I have no clue what caused it to rectify itself but I’m so happy it did.

TL;DR:

First theory: Took off armor, logged out to lobby, logged onto different character, logged out, then logged back in on first character. Put on armor and it was fixed.

Second theory: whenever switching a character, screen would flash red in the lobby acting like I was at 1 health even though I wasn’t in the game. Kept switching characters a lot, and eventually it stopped flashing and when I logged in everything worked fine.

UPDATE: took off armor on another character, quit game, opened game, put armor back on, and then logged out and switched characters back and forth, and my character no longer flashes red. I think this fixes it.
