Looking forward to the DLC and EE :)
Any chance you’ll implement proper flanking into the game ? Similar to how Kingmaker had a mod to do it
Happy to hear that :)
Unfortunately it's unlikely that such core mechanics will get changed.
I'm excited to play this but I'm trying to hold off playing the DLCs before everything that's gonna get released for WoTR is released...which I think is gonna take a while. Maybe I'll at least wait for the Enhanced Edition.
The waiting for everything to be released may take a while :P There's still a long way to go.
Two bugs that survived this patch
- Build specific. Elemental specialist / Waves oracle. Elemental focus allows spells like burning hands to do cold damage, not fire damage. Freezing spells revelation forces enemies to make a savings throw against a slow effect when suffering cold damage. Expected result: the cold version of burning hands would force enemies to save against a slow effect. Actual result: enemies do not need to save against slow effect with spells converted to cold by elemental focus.
- Healing bug, turn based mode only. Sometimes when casting a 'cure' spell the pathfinding will fail. The party member will have blue lotus visual effect and the spell will move to the quick bar action menu and become the default attack for that character. This is a minor annoyance if the character can still move. It's more of a problem if the character no longer has a move action and spell is no longer relevant. Then the character has lost the spell slot and can even accidentally heal an enemy.
I'm totally trying to summon /u/OwlcatStarrok
Hear me Starrok of the owlcats! I have prepared the ritual sacrifice in the form of a cup of coffee with bit of hot pepper mixed in.
Both of these issues are rather minor, so it may take a while until they are looked at. Especially the second one, that mechanic is ancient and has been in play ever since Kingmaker, I'm not even sure it's actually a bug and not an intended behaviour.
Cave Fangs Stalagmites is now a swift action;
There goes my favorite cheese. What a shame, but oh well, I enjoyed it while it lasted.
I suppose everyone can agree it was ridiculously broken :)
Now with magical vestment being patched, I would really love to see some mythic support for heavy armor and shield users in the EE. It feels so wrong that is has now become a RP choice rather than the primary approach for tank builds.
We're aware of this, and there's a certain drive among the team to look at this at some point in the future, but no promises or timings yet.
Thanks for the reply, if you would ask them to look at them I would appreciate it :)
On the second bug, yes, it's been around for a while.
And, yes, having played Kingmaker with Regongar I get where the bug came from. With a magus the spellcasting system works as intended. If you cast shocking grasp and miss you still have shocking grasp to use on the second round.
But spells you cast on friendlies shouldn't work the same way as spells cast on enemies.
(also in Kingmaker pathfinding failure was rare, in Wrath it's a common occurrence)
If you look at the forums this is often mentions by new players. Veterans have learned to live with it but I do think new players would appreciate having it fixed.
Developer time for bugfixing is limited, and as much as we all wish to see game completely clear from bugs, it's an iterative process that can last forever. So far there are many more pressing issues still on the list, before this can be even considered.
