Hey guys. We're of course sad for such reception of the new DLC. It took a lot of effort from many good people. However, mistakes happen, and we are already busy assessing what went wrong and how we can improve the current content and avoid repeating such issues in the future.

That could certainly be a part of it, but I guess the writing/GFX team needs something to do while the coders fix the bugs?

A very good point there :-)

It is sad, I think the puzzle hate is undeserved, there are not actually that much of them. The loud people that have complained about it I think have given the impression to a lot of people that this DLC is Enigma 2.0 , which is ridiculous.

I feel bad for Owlcat, because that bad reception is going to hurt them.

We are sad, of course, but we'll make sure to learn on the mistakes. I appreciate your kind words though.

Honestly, I'd be more happy if they just focus on fixing bugs and adding more content to the main campaign itself. That content could be DLC itself to help with development. Many of the mythic paths require a lot more love to be worth taking.

These are different tasks done by different teams within the studio. They are done simultaneously and slowing one down won't speed up the other.

I feel like the main reason many people were disappointed is that we were hoping for a campaign that would be a continuation of the amazing story and characters from the base game. The DLC by itself was legitimately enjoyable and worth the price IMO, it's just that people were expecting a miniature Throne of Bhaal or something but got a (still fun and interesting) disconnected spinoff with clones instead. It's good, just very different from what people were hoping for/expecting.

I know this probably will never happen, but I and probably many others would absolutely love to see a true sequel game/expansion that follows the adventures of the Commander/companions after the battle with Areelu. I can understand that it might be rather difficult to account for all the various ending possibilities though. But honestly even just some expanded ending slides and maybe even a bit of extra companion dialogue in the base game would make me very happy.

It's unlikely we'll see a full sequel, as the story is logically over, plus, as you correctly noticed, story branching (and as a result, amount of work) grows exponentially, which leads to exponential amount of work.

A bit more content for mythics (especially late game mythics), expanded ending slides, more voiceover and dialogue etc. are a very possible thing for Enhanced edition though.

u/OwlcatStarrok Don't worry, the game itself is incredible and i'm sure the third DLC will convince anyone here who loved the rogue-lite one in Kingmaker ! Hope the second one will bring some items in the main campaign too, like Varnhold's lot did. Regarding the upcoming weeks, do you know if the team will resume the "one patch per week rythm" as before the beta of 1.2 landed ? Thanks anyway !

Well, patching will continue. It's possible though, that it will be more about bigger patches like 1.2 rather than smaller hotfixes. And further DLCs that are actively in production.
