Hey, there will be an update tomorrow which fixes the vast majority of all VR issues that have been reported.
Originally posted by Power-Mad: I think most ideas are good ideas in the update are good but just full of bugs and awkwardness that make it temporarily unplayable but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel for this. I will say the one idea that is bad though:
"The walkie-talkie and journal are now placed on the belt to make them easier to grab and use"
This is not easier, this did not make things better, this made things worse in several ways.
1. Talking over the radio is now a 2 step process where as it's 1 button for desktop. This makes me just default to not using it if possible.
2. The front of your belt is cluttered with items. This means I keep accidentally grabbing my journal and radio when I'm just trying to do the common action of grabbing something in front of me.
3. The belt has always been awkwardly posed when crouching but an entire 180 degree field of items directly in my face when crouching means I can do nothing consistently until I stand up again.
4. You cannot use your belt or items when dead which is causing the really obviously problem of these are now items on your belt. I'm sure you'll bug fix this soon but it's gonna make so much more work for you for something that was fine before.
Speaking of fine before, Phasmophobia was actually a really good example of VR before this for 2 reasons I sighted to a lot of people. Instead of a button, you used the actual VR controls of VR to free up space and button bindings. I genuinely though it was a good idea that you kept your journal in your backpack and to use the radio you pretended like you were pressing a button on your headset. If someone jumped directly into the game with no instructions or tutorials, they were invisible functions, but I never saw anyone forget how to do those 2 basic things once they were told. They worked 100% of the time for me and felt natural. Now it feels sloppy, like a game that has too many holsters and now you need for be constantly aware of where your hands are because you might accidentally grab something you didn't mean to if you just rest your hands naturally somewhere and make a grabbing motion.
