Like why emerald can't sustain normal operations but cobalt was able to support a world record breaking amount of population?

Are these issues player induced, i.e. a bunch of salty sh*tters are crashing the server because haha le meme haha?

Is it ever going to get fixed?

So /u/jgolenbo, /u/a_sites, any actual answers? It was a funny occurrence 6 months ago. It was an understandable occurrence when emerald was waiting on the hardware upgrade and pops were sky high. It's gotten down right tiresome to have the server crashing ~once a week.

EDIT: server was restarted and pop is recovering. Still investigating the cause.

Looking into this now.

Mmm well ping rise up to 1400 and stop responding, lots of players got kicked out, the first 2 times, for me was the same with this One, after a few min I could enter the game again. If you browse the reddit for post few hrs ago you will see some post talking about the emerald servers. I just found this https://reddit.app.link/e1r6O4Dhn5 8 hrs ago, and theres another post about 12 hr ago.

For sure, and I know how frustrating this is. Not all disconnects are server crashes, obviously, but right now this is a big issue for us, one our network engineering team is working on near 24/7. It’s frustrating for us as well when it starts to feel like trying to prove a negative - the only sign a fix has “worked” is not seeing reports, and everything looks clean in the system logs for weeks and months, and then it happens again.

This team has brilliant, committed people and I have faith we’ll figure it out - I know that’s not a lot to go on right now, but we’re going to keep at this until we get it completely right.

As someone who needs to track down BSODs for their day job, I empathize with this point so hard.

Thanks guys - like I mentioned above, I know it’s not a ton of information to share. Hoping to have more insight next week, if we see that the server config changes we made (hopefully) improve things over the weekend.
