All PC LOGIN servers will undergo platform maintenance tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 10:00 AM PST (7:00 PM CET). Live servers will remain up, but many players will not be able to login during the first 30-60 minutes of maintenance (if you're already logged in prior to 10am PT, you won't be kicked). This maintenance will only impact our launchpad, no gameplay or environmental changes are being introduced. Maintenance is expected to conclude by 12:00 PM PST (~2 hours), though all players should be able to login again after the first hour. Nov 3. 10:45am PT update: Login servers are back up - maintenance is ongoing, but shouldn't block you from logging in or jumping on Live servers.

All PC & PS4 servers will come down for maintenance tomorrow, Monday, October 26, 2020 at the following times: PC: 7:00 AM PDT / 4:00 PM CEST PS4: 8:00 AM PDT / 5:00 PM CEST The only change going into the PC maintenance is that we're extending the duration of Chapter 1 from our Shattered Warpgate campaign through Monday, November 9. There's a bug blocking some players from completing the final chapter mission, along with a few other outstanding issues, and this change will ensure all players have ample time to complete the first Chapter. This won't affect the start time of Chapter 2. PC downtime will be minimal - we're estimating 1 hour, but as it's just a world/zone bounce, we're hoping to come in under that estimate. Tomorrow's PS4 update is MUCH more substantial - we're bringing over The Shattered Warpgate update AND starting our Halloween Event, Nanite ... Read more

This is AMAZING! Its a credit to a lot of insanely talented people who have worked on and supported the game over the last ~8 years, but as a lot of you know our team size is pretty small - we don't have some enormous creative media team, or CG animations team, or million dollar budgets for live-action or anything like that. Near 100% of our video content is real gameplay generated by real players on live environments (many of you have even joined us to help record trailer footage, for which we're eternally grateful!). So thank you ALL for helping us get here!

So tldr, yes its good that you spend it, but if you want to support RPG dont worry about the accounting, just buy the coins and spend them whenever you want.

^This. I'd add that you also support our team just by playing the game - our player count (user base) is just as important a metric to the health and success of the game as revenue.

tl;dr as long as players are playing and having fun, PS2 will be alive and well :)

PC servers will come down on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 6am PT (3pm CEST) for the game update below. We are also performing server maintenance during this window. Downtime is expected to last up to 3 hours. -- Misc. Changes, Fixes, and Additions
  • Fixed an issue with the Bio Analysis mission not providing audio/text indication when interacting with a terminal to complete the objective. All factions now see radio messages when hacking the biolab terminals.
  • "Masked Murder" Halloween Directive should now work for NSOperatives.
  • Fixed a bug with the "Witchy Ways" Halloween Directive where Squad Heal/Resupply/Repair would not count progress.
  • Fixed a bug where players would occasionally lose rewards when disconnected during an Alert. If a player is disconnected just before an Alert ends, they'll receive the reward upon logging back in.

Rogue Planet Games will also be doing a special live stream on the week leading up to Extra Life's Game Day on Saturday November 7th. There will also be events and giveaways as well as prizes for the entire community if we're able to reach the goal!

Even without the above, it's definitely a worthy cause and I hope that despite the recent unrest in the community we'll be able to come together as we did for the Escalation update and show what we're capable of as one united team <3

Appreciate you doing this, my dude. We still have some folks around (including me) from the last time we had an Extra Life team a few years ago, before the new studio, and we were actually the #1 fundraising team in all San Diego, and the #1 game studio in Southern California (not the biggest region around but includes some pretty gd huge studios in Orange County/LA who i won't name *cough* Blizzard & Riot *cough*). So it's a point of pride for us, along with being an awesome cause that everyone can get down with. The PS2 community was a HUGE help then, so it'll be awesome to get back at it with ya'll on the team!

We're still working on some of the prizes, but rest assured the Game Day stream in November will be pretty special. We'll have individual prizes but mostly we're leaning towards community incentives - rewards for everybody if we meet our goals. Looking forward to sharing more soon!

Yup, we announced about 30m in advance on social...sorry for the short notice. It was a quick maintenance (15m-ish) and well run it in EU late tonight, around 330am local.

Nothing major, but there was a crash that happened a couple times on Esamir that we wanted to knockout ASAP before the weekend.

Thanks for the feedback! First off, something I'll guarantee: the Dev team is always watching, reading, listening, and gathering us much intel from the community as we're humanly able (here, twitter, twitch, youtube, facebook, etc). Perhaps to an unhealthy degree :) It's always GREATLY appreciated, so please keep it coming.

A few of the points you mentioned - Mission UI/notifications, Lore delivery, NPC conversation - are already on our radar. With massive updates like this, with entirely new systems going into the game, there's always a trade-off between wanting to get things exactly as we originally envisioned (and taking the extra months of development required to do that) and getting to a good place to get it in front of our community, with the plan to keep adding, tuning and tinkering over our time. With a team our size, we usually opt for the latter approach - we're in no way done with the Mission system, or Esamir, and certainly not with Campaigns. These are def s...

Thanks for starting this thread. We're looking at EVERYTHING today (and through the weekend). Regarding rewards, Missions and Rewards both are randomized each day, so it'll be a few days before we have enough data to compare how things are shaking out vs how they were. But we'll keep looking at it and make changes as necessary.

Similar feedback regarding pop near the Shattered Warpgate - right now there's a RUSH to fight around the new area, but I'd expect that will calm down a little bit in a few days. We'll watch and see.

And we definitely have plans to keep adding and diversifying Mission types, both the standard dailies and future Campaign (story) Missions. Many of the newest ones were added late in the process, and we're going to want to see how they perform, how fun/popular they are, etc over the next days and weeks. But more are coming, definitely.

Wrong icon, right helmet. This will be fixed with our next hotfix (likely today).

All PC Live servers will come down for maintenance tomorrow (Thursday, September 24) at 6:00 AM PDT / 3:00 PM CEST. Downtime is expected to last until 10:00 AM PDT (4 hours total). Tomorrow's extended window is due to two separate maintenance operations that we've chosen to run concurrently so we don't need to bring servers down twice. One is standard backend maintenance on PS2 PC servers - the second is a Daybreak Ops maintenance on our Login servers. While that second maintenance does not technically require bringing game servers down, it is likely that Logins will be affected until it is complete, so we're playing it safe and bringing servers down for the duration. We hope to start bringing servers back up by 9:00 AM PDT and beat that 4-hour estimate, but will be providing live updates on our official Twitter and ... Read more

No connection. Like Andy said, it's just a new environment we're testing out. Nothing exciting to share :)

And judging by their behavior, I'm willing to bet they're as dumb as a bag of dogshit.

I can't speak toward specific tactics we deploy, but we do have a dedicated team at RPG devoted to in-game monitoring and account-level enforcement of our community policies, particularly relating to racist, sexist, or homophobic harassment or abuse. We take this VERY seriously. It's always a battle to catch every instance on a live game, but in cases like this where the abuse is clear-cut and well-documented, we can and will act swiftly.

Thank you for reporting this, Trinity - it's heartbreaking to watch, and I'm so sorry you were the target of this kind of unconscionable abuse. We are moving immediately to take action against the individuals responsible. Sharing the clips and details really helps us weed out player behavior like this, there's no place for it in our community (or any community). Still so much work to do be done. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions about next steps that we're taking.

This would be AMAZING to do, and if we can scope it out and it makes sense, we'd love to try it for future OW finals events. Andy/Wrel chatted about this a bit on our last stream, but Outfit Wars is going through a pretty major rework - we're pretty happy with the competition itself, Desolation is great and it led to some pretty epic matches in the first two competitive cycles. But the qualification process needs revision so it's more equitable and less disruptive to the regular game. That's where most of our OW focus is. More to come when we're ready to share of course :)
