The following events have been canceled, postponed, or changed.

  • Abra Community Day: This event has been postponed.

We will also be making the following changes to Pokémon GO which are effective starting now until further notice.

  • A one-time purchase bundle of 30 Incense for 1 PokéCoin. Incense will also last for one hour.
  • 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during this time period
  • PokéStops will now drop Gifts more frequently
  • Pokémon habitats will increase and more Pokémon will be appearing in the wild

We’ve received reports of developments regarding Shadow Pokémon. Whatever Team GO Rocket is doing seems to be making these poor Pokémon stronger as long as they remain Shadow Pokémon. Details are as follows.

  • Shadow Pokémon now deal more damage with their Fast and Charged Attacks, but they also take more damage when attacked.
  • Powering up a Shadow Pokémon and teaching a Shadow Pokémon an additional Charged Attack now cost less Stardust and Candy.
  • Legendary Shadow Pokémon that you save from Giovanni are now more powerful.

It appears something strange has happened with the Eggs you can receive from Gifts: 7 km Eggs are now hatching only fossil Pokémon!

Here’s what we know so far.

  • The fossil Pokémon Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Lileep, Anorith, Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, and Archen are now the only Pokémon hatching from 7 km Eggs.
  • These fossil Pokémon will no longer be hatching from 2, 5, and 10 km Eggs.
  • Riolu will now be hatching from 10 km Eggs.

Enjoy this ticketed event in the magnificent 235-acre Sefton Park from Friday, April 17, to Sunday, April 19, 2020. In this community note, we’d like to share some info about general Trainer Battle bug fixes and updates to attacks.

Updates to the combat system

We have one last batch of changes to Trainer Battles to set the stage for an exciting upcoming feature.

  • Charged Attacks and switching will now be queued and activated at the end of the current Fast Attack and won’t be overridden by any following Fast Attacks.
  • Certain visual bugs in battles have been fixed.

Updates to existing attacks in Pokémon GO

  • Megahorn - This Bug-type Charged Attack now deals more damage.
