[2023] Is every domination match continents?

Forgive me for my ignorance if it is the case, but Idk if it has always been like this or it's just because of the naval update, but it's really quite difficult to three star every opponent when there's always a damn river or sea blocking me from expanding.

It forces me to get roads/sailing every game, making it nigh impossible to defeat the opponent in as little as 10 moves (to get the three stars).

Is there a way to change the map type? Do you guys have any suggestions on how i may attain three stars as a 'bad economy' tribe such oumaji or hoodrick?

It has always been Continents.

You are able to play Domination in Creative mode, which let's you adjust the map type.

Well, yeah, it's Creative mode.

Like, we can't have you stacking the deck in your favor and then getting insane scores, y'know.

But you can still play with the rulesets in case you're getting tired of Continents.

That being said, we did release a patch today to help fix Continents.

Just adjustments to make them more interesting and hopefully address some concerns with things like spawns.

I do work for Midjiwan and have for years now.

But while they're based in Stockholm, I live in California.

I was a fan that accidentally got the job after taking over the Discord that eventually became their official one.

It has been a crazy trip, that's for sure.
