Map Generation Improvements:
* More variety to Continents and Pangea map
* Improved city placement

Bugfixes:
* Naval units now show which unit is inside a naval vessel in the text description
* End Turn now properly turns blue when all units are out of actions
* Removed option to break ice on a frozen unit
* Fixed a crash bug that appeared in some situations when constructing a Vengir temple in the month of November
* Market sprites now properly updates when building or destroying ports
* Market sprites now uses correct z-ordering so it won’t overlap buildings in front of it
* Invisible units are now revealed when breaking ice or harvesting starfish
* Unit inside a ship now gets poisoned when the ship gets poisoned. Unit also heals from poison if ship heals from poison.
* Tutorial hints improvements
* Giant pushing a unit with Skate-ability no longer exhausts that units actions

We are happy to announce another month of Polysseum! This December, we are featuring the Tribe of the Month - Bardur. This month is your last chance to qualify for the Season Finals, so don't wait because tournaments are starting December 2nd!

How to join?
  1. Open The Battle of Polytopia -> Multiplayer -> Tournaments. Once you find the tournament that suits you, click "Join".
  2. Follow our {LINK REMOVED}Tournaments Hub on Challengermode and find your favourite tournaments.
Don't forget to confirm your participation 15 minutes before the tournament start.

Hey Polytopians!

As you’ve probably noticed, the Path of the Ocean Update is going to be released fully on the 21st[polytopia.io], and that means we’re in the process of finalizing the update and its many changes. In this particular update, we’re adding all of the new changes to both Android and iOS testing programs, so now everyone can join in on the fun!

Polysseum is The Battle of Polytopia competitive tournament series open for everyone to train their skill and fight for the win!

Changes coming this November Map changes
Based on the community feedback, we are returning to the Small Map. Starting with Small Drylands, then moving to Small Lakes the second week and finishing the series with Small Drylands again.

Increased tournament capacity
Since the map is bigger this month and a 32-player tournament on Small Map would take longer than a few hours, we are introducing tournament splitting. It might sound confusing, so bear with me.
  • There will be a maximum of 16 players per tournament.
  • But a maximum of 3 tournaments will be created daily, which means, if there are enough players on a waiting list, Challengermode will create up to 3 tournaments with 16 players in each, accommodating up to 48 players.

We’re back with a brand new major beta update for you, the aptly named “Path of the Ocean” (formerly known as “the Naval Rework”)! We’ve taken some time to pretty much fully rework how the naval game is played, adding new units, mechanics, and poking everything that merely looks at the water! Battleship Spam™ is dumb, and we can promise you that it’s now a thing of the past!
To keep things simple and quick on our side, the beta test will only be available on Steam, and you can find instructions on how to join the beta at the bottom of this post.

Polysseum is The Battle of Polytopia competitive tournament series open for everyone to train their skill and fight for the win!

Last month, we saw overwhelming support from the community, with tournaments filling up within a few minutes. Since Polysseum is becoming increasingly popular among players, we are adding more tournaments and a few more changes*.

New tournaments
We are keeping existing tournaments and adding 4 more weekly to accommodate early risers in Europe and players from East Asia and Australia.
  • Tuesday 11:00 UTC+2 / 20:00 UTC+11
  • Thursday 11:00 UTC+2 / 20:00 UTC+11
  • Saturday 11:00 UTC+2 / 20:00 UTC+11

Player kicking/skipping will be re-enabled in a few days, after we can verify everything works as intended.

General:
  • Improved user experience flow with instant tournament
  • Updated Unity purchasing package, hopefully to help fix purchasing issues
  • Updated About page and credits screen
  • Performance improvement when sending out Explorers
  • Performance improvement for city connections, hopefully reducing loading lag

Bugfixes:
  • Fixed games broken by our recent server issues
  • Infinite growth bug fixed
  • Player sorting in win screen adjusted
  • Resigned players now show as bots

We have come across some very unique bags from the Quetzali artisans. These are vintage items that can rarely be found on the Square, and they've been made specially for us humans to enjoy! You probably couldn't fit an ostrich in them, but don't worry, there's plenty of room for corn. :)
