So i downloaded R6 on the uplay store on the free weekend. Then i purchased it on steam and im wondering if theres anyway to link those two in a way so i dont have to download the entire game again just to play it.

I would certainly recommend you to simply re download it on Steam, in order to avoid any issues along the way, however if you would like to see whether you can make a shortcut, then I have seen players suggesting that the following workaround has helped:
1. First, copy all of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege folder to 'Steamapps' folder
2. Then, select Install the game in your Steam launcher and it may detect your existing files
