[2020] uplay requiring me to activate cd key

i bought rainbow six a year ago on steam and linked it to my uplay now and it worked perfectly fine until now. Now it requires me to activate a cd even though it was already activated. help

EDIT: Solved, all you have to do is verify integrity of game files on steam and now its fixed
