ok so i have had a problem with r6 crashing while validating and updating files and i may have found a workaround so i have to pcs which i play r6 on both and when i check the apps allowed to communiccate through windows firewall on one pc it says tom clancys rainbow six siege and that allows the game to run correctly but what 1 pc has and the other doesnt is rainbow six - launcher which i believe is the problem for it crashing while launching because the launcher doesnt have access through the windows firewall so it can't launch the game and i think what caused the crashing problem on my first pc was that while launching rainbow for the first time i didnt click allow access on all popups therefore not letting it communicate through the firewall and i looked for hours for any solutions to my problem and i couldnt find any so i tried to figure and i believe i did so to fix the issue you need to:
1. open control panel > system and security > Windows defender firewall > allowed apps
2. if youdont see rainbow six launcher or anything similar click allow another app and then add in these two files they may not be in these exact locations but the y will be in your r6 folders in steamapps so once you add these files and make sure they have permissions by ticking under the private and public category and launch if it doesnt work then validate your files and if it still doesnt work you probably have a different issue to this
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege\RainbowSix_BE.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege\RainbowSix_BE.exe
