Dear players,
So, I just got TK'ed by a man who sounded well in his 20's, possibly early 30's. He tried to pull of a fake laugh afterwards, quiet possibly to mask his insecurities. The whole ordeal was very uncomfortable for the both of us I can imagine. Luckily it was the final round, because I was loaded into an ongoing losing game, which seems to be a normal thing to happen nowadays. Things did not improve much, as the very next game my entire team got wiped out little over 30 seconds into the first round. Upon viewing the kill-cams it became very clear the other team had multiple players using mouse and keyboards. One had even bothered to write it down in their PSN status: "I'm using MnK =D".
Anyways, as a console player I've come to notice a few things over the years:
1) In the past 5 years there have been a grand total of 0 attempts by Ubisoft to fix mouse and keyboard cheating. They've added new operators, new maps, new game modes, an impressive amount of in-game items, countless updates to their game engine, dealt with DDOS attacks on multiple occasions, but not a single attempt was made to even reducing the number of mouse and keyboard cheating... Come to think of it, it even took them years to 'sort of' confirm this is cheating. Sure, Ubisoft has been telling players that they are 'looking into it' for years, but that's a little hard to believe at this point. Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure the 'report' button is nothing more than a sad reminisce from the days Ubisoft had ambitions with this game. Which brings me to my second observation...
2) Cheaters can often be seen with in-game cosmetic items that cost serious amounts of money. A lot of these items cost more than the game itself(!). This leaves me wondering, could it be possible that Ubisoft is turning the other cheek because of this, ignoring these cheaters? I can't say they do. But I wouldn't dare to claim the opposite either. Again, 0 attempts to fix this issue in the past 5 years is not a whole lot.
Dear reader, please leave me/us your thoughts on the subject. Many gigabytes of work... 0 attempts...
