A couple of months ago I was playing Rainbow six almost every day. No lag, no stuttering and no input lag on my keyboard and mouse. However, today when I updated the game and started it up, it was really laggy. Like stuttering, input lag and sometimes even freezes. I don't know why this is happening because I'm playing on the same pc as before and back then there were no problems. I assume this problem has something to do with my cpu but as I mentioned this is the same pc as before. This thing also happens in COD and sometimes csgo. (only input lag)
My pc specs are: i5 9600k, rtx 2060, 32gb ram. The temps are normal but my cpu is always at 100% load when playing, I don't have other games up while playing. I don't have any background apps except medal and discord.

@indiantekscamer Hey there, sorry to hear you're having these performance issues and high CPU usage while playing Rainbow Six Siege. Can you please first tell me if this seems to be the same issue described in this R6Fix post?

Hello @indiantekscamer, thanks for getting back to us and letting us know of your resolution by upgrading your CPU to another model.

In case this stuttering issue ever comes back, I would recommend trying the following steps that have been known to help players who have faced stuttering issues also in the past >>

-Disable any in-game overlays in the game launchers settings if you do not need them to invite friends/access store, as this can sometimes give you an FPS boost >
Steam > Settings > Steam Overlay > In-game > uncheck 'Enable the Steam overlay while in-game'
Ubisoft Connect > Settings > General > uncheck 'Enable in-game overlay for supported games'

- Experiment with switching Vsync on and off in the game's settings and your GPU software (Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Radeon Settings), to see if this can steady the frame rate and performance

- Check your FPS settings for the game in Nvidia's control panel software or AMD's FreeSync/Radeon Settings and try overriding these settings per game, by adding the games .exe file to the programs list, then cap/limit this FPS value to a more stable lower frame, decreasing the FPS value and testing the performance each time

- Try both Vulkan mode and DirectX versions of the game and test if one is better for you than the other (Vulkan offers performance, whilst DirectX offers graphical fidelity)

- Try running the game in the Fullscreen, Windowed, and Borderless modes to see if there is a noticeable improvement

- Lower your graphic/video settings in-game so that you do not exceed your Vram limitations in the menu. Running your Vram at max can cause your system to use your normal Ram and which can cause stuttering and lead to crashes

- Check to see if you are using the dedicated GPU for the game and not the integrated GPU (especially if using a laptop) if you open Task Manager on the first screen some players will have GPU0 and GPU1 listed. In the process tab, you should be able to see what applications are using what GPU by default.

- Open your Windows Control Panel, select Power Options, make sure you do not have 'power saver' enabled, next, check the power save 'advanced options' for your CPU, for any restrictions and select Performance mode if able

Hello @halo_ce-22 thank you for your post.

Are you experiencing performance issues in-game also and have you run through any of the steps listed above? FPS and stuttering issues can have multiple causes, this may not be something being caused by the game we can fix and we must rule out other causes of performance issues too, relating to a players build and connection.

If you've run through all the steps listed in this thread and are still having issues with stuttering please contact us over a support ticket and send us your system files, so we can try to help you resolve this issue with further investigation > https://www.ubisoft.com/help/contact
