this was my first ranked match ever and i was doing really well but somereason my wifi cut out. this was my first time getting kicked out of a match and i got banned for 24 HOURS.

If you have abandoned match and were unable to reconnect before it was concluded, suspension will be issued by the server-side and I am afraid it's not something that our Support team would be able to overturn. To add, if this has happened for the very first time, the suspension you received tends to be for a much shorter period of time and will be extended in case if it happens on multiple instances, however every matter is being addressed case by case basis and isn't always identical.
