Firstly his smoke needs to be removed. There is a reason Thermite got his removed ages ago (to stop smoking off breachable walls) this also does not help the situation with Ying and her smokes. this combination will be the death of next season (thats a fact) remove his smokes before this becomes a bigger issue.

Secondly, remove 1 of his gadgets. He is a thermite in terms of (size openings) and a Hibana (in terms of range for openings) in one. he needs a trade of between the two. give him 2 gadgets instead of 3 so it makes his breaching capabilities limited otherwise you will be making 2 operators obsolete next season.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. think about your previous balance changes on other operators. Ace is literally going to cause issues.

I encourage you all to make sure you play on the TTS to test your theories and make sure to contribute to the TTS Subreddit with your thoughts.

I think Ace's openings are slightly smaller than Thermite's, yet bigger than Hibana. As mentioned in Gregor's video, the point of Ace is to make him an alternative to Thermite or Hibana, not replace them. We want Ace to be used in spots where it is typically risky for hard breachers, like on Coastline. Thermite is obviously still fairly strong since he gives the largest size opening.

I think plus Thermite has over Ace is the time it takes to deploy and activate his gadget. By the time Ace has one Selma on a destructible surface, Therm has his on and is halfway through the sequence. Ace can get easily impact/bandit tricked once the first initial charge detonates.

In Hibana's case, she's still got an edge over Ace, I believe. He needs two Selmas in order to fully open a hatch, whereas Hibana only needs a single cluster of X-KAIROS.

Make sure you hop onto the TTS tomorrow when it goes live to test it out so we can get your thoughts and feelings on stuff after you've had hands-on experience with the new ops and renovated House.
