So I can understand correctly you can't run the Vulkan API at all and the standard version runs but has the infinite connection loop or is the infinite connection loop on Vulkan and standard works fine?

I would suggest also to attempt each step suggested here. These steps are known to resolve most of the common causes of crashing/freezing.
