[2020] When is players quitting in ranked going to be addressed properly?

I don't want a ******g useless 'the team are looking in to it'. This game has been out for years and players can still quit, completely ruining their teams chances, and face nothing more than a small ban.

If you win...it counts, if not, you lose nothing. Many other games do this. Why can't rainbow? I'm so sick of this. It's a problem that can be easily fixed. Either that, or players that quit and don't rejoin within an allotted time get put down a few ranks.

It's not hard

As mentioned in our Top Issues Blog, to help mitigate players who leave at the beginning in a match, we are introducing a Match Cancellation feature. The feature will be available during the Prep Phase if the team starts with less than a full team or someone leaves during prep phase. This doesn't help in the case where someone leaves mid-match, but the team is open to ideas to help with this issue as well. I don't think Match Cancellation would be extended throughout the whole match since players could abuse it if they are about to lose and have someone tank an Abandonment Sanction for a canceled match. It is important to remember that there are Abandonment Sanctions are in place for players who repeatedly leave matches over and over, which escalate the more they abandon matches.

Having players join in on Ranked games while they are in progress would be unfair to the person joining the match and not something I think the team would consider implementing, especially in the case where it is on the last round of the match and the team they join is losing. It presents an unfair loss to the person who joined and they should not lose MMR over it.
