I have quite a decent microphone; a Razer Seiren X.
My mic sounds great, its a semi popular streamer mic because of how good it is (without going the XLR route, it's one of the best money can buy)
People I speak to all say its high quality when talking through Discord/Skype/ANY OTHER GAME

However, when playing Siege, I am always told my microphone sounds very poor.
My friends who I am premade with say my mic sounds very high quality in our discord chat, but when I use the ingame voicechat, it sounds awful and peaks very easily.

I have disabled/removed all other microphones from my PC to ensure it's not accidentally selecting another microphone (such as my webcam),
This means I do not any other input devices under the 'recording' tab on 'Sounds' (In Windows settings)

I have played around with 'Voice Chat Record Level' and 'Voice Chat Record Threshold' R6 Siege settings, tried countless different configurations and this has not improved the quality of the microphone.

Has anyone else experienced this who can provide any help or input?

Hello Friendly.Fyre, thank you for contacting us about your microphone reduced quality when playing SIege.

Would you be able to follow the following troubleshooting steps to see if we can improve this in-game? -

1. First of all can you try lowering the games 'Voice Chat Record Threshold' in the games audio settings to zero, this should allow the mic to be picked up with the slightest sound.

2. Next try changing the audio settings in game from push to talk to open and experiment with the two.

3. Could you next try changing the display options in game to run in borderless window and then full screen mode and see if this makes a difference.

4. Next, can you please make sure you have the correct device set up in Windows and in the games settings to pick up sound - some motherboards use separate audio channels for a device depending on if you have your headphones/mic plugged into the front of your PC or back of your PC.

5. Next, please follow every troubleshooting step in our support article here to make sure you have not missed any steps - https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Article/000060669

6. Finally, please see this article for common microphone problems With Windows 10 and how to solve them - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...5-336f35576011

Please note, depending on what country or what server you are connected to, this can also restrict you voice chat use in game.

Please let me know how you get on after trying the above steps.

Hey there,

Thank you for your detailed responses.

It is good to hear that you found a solution that did help you, can I check what microphone it was you purchased?

Can I also check whether you had any other applications running whilst using your original mic?

Would it be possible to let us know if the mic issue persists following a clean boot ensuring there are no conflictions from other applications?

Many thanks
