I already have siege on ubisoft connect but I like to keep stuff simpler and have it all on one launcher if I can. Whats stopping me tho is will all my progress reset if I buy it on steam and link my current ubisoft account to it. As well as I moved from uk to america a while back so my current steam account is in dollars and my ubisoft store is in pounds so will it change my currency meaning I can buy credits or will it keep my currency as pounds.

As long as it's purchased on the same Ubisoft account you shouldn't experience any issues. I would however recommend changing the region of both your accounts to match your current location to avoid any purchase issues, we can help you out with that via a support case.
