The recent patch notes announced that the recruit would be changed to be a predetermined load out. I really want to just give a chance to save recruit before it could be "gone", and explain why it is a really cool part of siege. The change didn't really come as a surprise because I don't think the intention of recruit was to push "toxic Jager recruit shotgun rushes" or defenses, and that seems to be one of the biggest uses for it. This ends up being magnified with the ease of access for new players to get a wide variety of operators for cheap. But! There is more to the variety that it brings that makes it a fun pick and adds unique content to the game. I should start by saying this discussion is for casual play and for how much fun siege can be outside of the competitive scene, to give a voice to the probably smaller community. Being able to pick a 5 man shield push on attack is fun, being able to play as "thicc boy outlaws" with 5 french revolvers on defense is fun. The recruit offers loadouts and styles of play that can be unique and interesting for a role playing or stupid challenge strat. On a side note the recruit is also superrrr fun on custom 5v5 tactical realism knife only, everyone looks the same and coms are going nuts. The recruit is never going to be a better pick than any other main operator, it will never bother top tier competition, but it is really fun every now and again for unique game play. I'm sure there are other stories about how fun recruit can be, and maybe it won't have to leave if we can get a good case going for it. Wishful thinking to add, I know it won't happen because pushing new guns and selling new operators is a business plan, but ubi if you are listening we would loveeeee to have dlc recruits. Could you imagine having a Mira and her 4 vector recruit assistants defense, or any at all ever defense or attack round with 5 man Deagle. The list goes on with potential, but thank you to any Siege fans reading this far, or even ubisoft themselves. Maybe I am crazy and not many people are going to miss the recruit but if you are, please let's try to save it.

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your opinion on the Recruit changes. The reason behind it is to make Recruit suited more for new players adjusting to Siege, rather than him continue to be a meme pick. I do understand it can be funny and entertaining in his current state, but the team would like to make improvements so new players can learn Siege.
