Hey everyone! After the latest Ubisoft Connect update from late Februari myself and others have been experiencing overloaded CPU's as a result of a software issue with Ubisoft Connect Webcore. Those familiar with the issue will have seen this before and will probably have been told to turn on V-SYNC or whatever but that doesn't really work, so here is a workaround that works for me.

To doublecheck that you're experiencing the same (or similar) issues as myself, I am referring to the issue where Ubisoft Connect Webcore and similar programs, all related to Ubisoft Connect, are now suddenly asking for an increased amount of CPU workload, at times reaching as high as 60% where the programs would normally function properly at roughly 5 to 10%. If your issues are NOT related to this issue the workaround I am posting may not work for you.

To work your way around this issue you will simply have to turn off the Ubisoft Connect overlay. Yes, really, it turns out to be as simple as that. To turn off your Ubisoft Connect overlay (by default opened by pressing Shift+F2) you go to your Ubisoft Connect application > click the menu button > click on settings > scroll down untill you find the "Enable overlay" function and deselect that > fully quit Ubisoft Connect.

It is important that you restart the application, otherwise the setting changes will not take affect.

Obviously no workaround is without it's drawbacks. Although this will ensure that you can play the game without the heavy CPU loads again, there are at least 4 downsides that I have been able to find for this workaround:

1. You can not accept any invitations or invite anyone in-game as this is done through the overlay. You will have to keep the Ubisoft Connect application open and go through there to queue with your friends and teammates.
2. You will be unable to make any purchases in the shop using real life currency as this once again goes through the overlay. You have to go through the application again or use the website to make any purchases using real currency.
3. Whenever you queue up for a match, during matchmaking it is recommended that you do not click on ANY of the buttons presented on screen as the act of pressing said buttons may lead to a matchmaking error and will remove you from queue.
4. The solutions seems to render the game incapable of operating using Vulcan API (on my end at least) so you'll have to launch using the default API.

I hope this helps some of the people who experience the same issue as I did/do. Note that this is not a permanent fix and intended to be a temporary workaround. I have already contacted support via Twitter to inform them of all of the above mentioned things.

Have a good one!
