So,does this game have any sort of skill based matchmaking? Cuz I'm constantly put against players around lvl 100 when I'm currently not even at 10 yet and don't know where my head's at.
P.S.; Ik the mandatory git gud comment is coming band what you fail to consider is...that takes time. In the meantime it's hella fun to be outmatched horribly in almost all games or to be put in already loosing ongoing matches. Hurray *feel the sarcasm*

Hi Kit! Welcome to the forums. Your clearance level is not taken into account for matchmaking. You can learn how matchmaking works for Siege here.

So are you saying your system thinks I'm at the same level skill wise as those 100's? I'm flattered but I really must disagree XD

Also according to that link, even in ranked it's possible to get matched against people with way higher rank/skill (gold with diamond for ex) if I understood right because 'there aren't many diamond players' but isn't that incredibly unfair for the golds? Granted I have no clue how big the skill gap is.
The Quick Match/Casual mode does have it's own MMR system like Ranked but is completely separate from Ranked MMR. It is possible the players you are being put up against just do not play Quick Match often, so their MMR is skewed. After a few matches, their MMR should even out.
The instances where that happens in Ranked should be fairly low. It all depends on the time of day and region as well for what players are currently queuing for that mode. Overall, the system tries it's best to put you with players near your MMR.

We've been keeping track of recent threads regarding unbalanced matches, and have reported them up to the team for review. That's all I have to share on that at the moment.

People only care now because the player base has changed most of the veteran players are gone and in order to keep the new players you wanna listen now. This could have been addressed back then. Which would have kept players around who left. And built upon the base. But like so many other posts that are about glaring issues with the game they get shuffled to the back of the forums while the low ball stuff is addressed. I’m sorry but that is typical Ubisoft crap and why the company has such a bad reputation.
I can fully understand your frustration. The game has grown into something much larger and has improved a lot overall since the start. The team always appreciates any feedback you have to share, as long as it is constructive, and hopes to continue to grow positively.
Matchmaking overall is a complicated system to balance, which takes changes over time to 1) see the effects of and 2) test them out. I was not saying it was a new thing, but it is something that has gained a lot more traction recently since I started on the R6 team, and therefore I was saying that it is something I have been taking note of. We even mention in the matchmaking system blog post that sometimes the system can have problems finding a balanced match, so it sometimes will have to broaden the search up a bit in order to find players to start the match. However, this is not something that should happen frequently, rather once in a while. I've also said this several times on other threads discussing imbalanced matchmaking reports.
You obviously care a lot for the game, especially since you been around for so long. I do appreciate you taking the time to reach out and ask about it, and I understand the response I gave may not be what you are looking for, but it is all I have available to share at the moment. I'll continue to share threads with the dev team to illustrate the sentiment around matchmaking and show how often this is being reported. If you have any further questions, you can feel free to DM me if you wish. Thank you for your understanding!

Then you take 4 that know how to play and place them on one team and put 1 that is clueless. This is the problem, it’s not even or fair. I’ve played thousands of matches. And this is how the MM works. I would rather a completely random group of people randomly chosen then the way it has been. This is more than just frustrating, it’s a serious problem and it is a obvious one to anyone who spends enough time to actually pay attention. If any of you all spent the time playing solo as I have you would notice this issue. It’s not something that just appeared it’s been this way for 3 years. That is a lot of data. What I’m assuming is RB6 uses some type of score based MM because if do terrible in a game the next one I am placed on an all star team, against people that have zero idea on what to do. If I do well I am then placed on the team that has zero idea on what to do. Against a team of all stars.. It’s funny how it works to the point I can game the system by doing terrible and being placed on a good team. What’s sad is that y’all’s system is almost exactly like CODMWs terrible system that they also ignore is a problem. Two games that are AAA titles using almost exactly the same type of MM and both of those systems are broken. Again I’m not point the finger directly at you I am just making sure this is clearly explained so as that maybe just maybe something anything will finally be done.
I do appreciate you taking the time to explain your experience. I also play solo from time to time and have experienced some unbalanced matches, but not as much as others it seems. To be fair, I don't also play as often as others, so that may be part of that. The current matchmaking blog post is a little dated, and I shall see about updating it. However, most of the contents of the post are still valid. It should help give an idea about how MMR is adjusted, and the matchmaking system. Thank you again for taking the time!

Those players may be redirected to the correct datacenter, and would need to reach out to Ubi support regarding it. But thank you for sharing again as well!
