I've not played for a few seasons and I've not had any need to renew my PS+, but I noticed there's a free weekend happening right now and thought I might come back and see what's changed while I've been away.

So I need PS+ to play during the free weekend?

You will need PS+ in order to play the PvP content within Siege for the Free Weekend. You should at least be able to access Lone Wolf Terrorist Hunt and the Situations without PS+.
