I used to go under the name "Panty-Privateer". The joke is that im a pirate who steals underwear.
ANYWAY, I changed my name to something else in spirit of a new season, and when the novelty of that wore off I tried to go back to being Panty-Privateer.
Well, it turns out that in that time, "Panty" became a banned word. Really silly word to ban IMO. Nothing offensive about it. Is there anyway to get my name back? This really kills my buzz tbh.

Hey!

I understand this may seem like a completely innocent word, and you used it in the context of your own personal joke.

If the username system dictates a word cannot be used, I'm sorry to say we are unable to override it.

I wish you all the best!

What I dont understand is why the name was fine until I changed it. How does ubisoft determine what gets the axe?
Is there a way to see what words are actually banned? My friends and I have noticed that a great deal of harmless words, terms, and even profile pictures are either banned or result in removal.
Our username system is in the process of being improved, I don't believe we are using any automated system at this time to change / sanction usernames at this time.

There is no list for possibly offensive words. This is also something that is continuously changing and being improved upon.

The bans that you are referring to were likely all applied after manual review. Avatars can be appealed and we will check again, to see if we agree with the previous decision that was made.
