[2021] 3 player multiplayer no longer available?

We used to be able to create small 3 player Co-op games but with the new patch it's forcing 5 player matches by populating the 2 remaining players.

Is there any way to play 3 vs AI matches at all anymore?

Hey blakwing42, welcome to the forums!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble playing 3 vs AI.

You should be able to do this by first inviting your friends to your party, After this you should be able to select 'training grounds' and you should have 2 options available to you.

1 option will be to play online co-op and this is the option that will add other players. Please ensure you are selecting the other option available to you.
