I accidentally loaded into a ranked and backed out before I found a match and queued with my mates but it said reconnect and I tried yet it gave me an error and I couldn't reconnect so I went into one with my mates and halfway through it said I had a ban and I won the game so should have earned 50+ mmr yet I lost about 43.

Abandon sanctions can take some time to implement, often they're not added until after the match is concluded. Leaving queue just as you're about to be connected to a match can lead to this situation occurring where you weren't fully loaded into the match so reconnecting isn't possible but an abandon sanction still occurs. This situation should only happen rarely but if you're finding this is happening to you all the time please do let us know.
