This is getting ridiculous with the amount of dossing going around xbox lately.

I understand that this is a larger issue and not easily dealt with. However, there has to br something done to help ease the pain people who get dossed experience. We get attacked, we lose mmr, we cant play the game for 30min-2hrs or more, the match counts as a loss and we get an abandon on our record.

I will update with video links as soon as i cam upload them.

In the United States, the people that take part in DDoS attacks can charged with legal offenses at the federal level, on both, civil and criminal cases. The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) is the applicable law (18 U.S.C. §1030).

Annicdotely, the bulk of online media piracy was halted, or reduced to a fraction of what it was at its peak by holding people accountable for their actions. Many people who illegally downloaded digital media were jailed and/or fined exorbanant amounts of money as a result of being found guilty in both civil and criminal courts.

So the questions that i ask for everybody here,
1- why is justice not being served here? Globally companies like Microsoft, Sony, EA, Ubisoft, Bethesda(now xbox), and Activision not stepping up and working together to try and put a halt on this cancerous trend?
2- What steps is ubisoft taking moving forward? And please do not give a politically correct copy and paste response. We deserve transparent answers.
3- How is Ubisoft helping those affected by these malicious attacks. Many people have spent a lot of money, time, and loyalty with your brand.
3.5- We give and give. What can we expect to get back?

Hello BoondoggleLimp! Thank you for taking the time to write this post and address your concerns in Rainbow Six Siege. I fully understand how frustrating, exhausting, and disappointing it is to encounter players like this in-game. With that being said, I will do my best to answer your questions. Since I am just part of Support, I cannot speak for the development team or Ubisoft as a whole, but I can definitely provide some insight that has been made public to our players.

1. While it may not seem like justice is being served, I can assure you that our teams are working diligently on the back-end to investigate and resolve this matter. The main issue is stated in the Status Report that the team released themselves, "DDoS issues have arisen from time to time as cheaters find different methods to attack vulnerabilities in our systems." Once different methods are identified, they need to be investigated. As cheaters find more and more ways to perform these attacks, it adds to the list of ongoing investigations.

2. I would like to once again direct you to the team's Status Report, specifically section 3.1. I'm not meaning for this to be a copy/paste response, but the team perfectly explained their current and future plans in regards to DDoS in that section so I'd definitely suggest reading over it.

3 (& 3.5). Once again, I personally and completely understand the combined annoyance and frustration that players have felt while encountering these attacks. However, Support does not have information on plans for compensation -- if any -- for any in-game matters. This information will always be shared on the official Twitter for Rainbow Six Siege, so I would advise checking there for updates. Nonetheless, Ubisoft Support is helping affected players by reporting these attacks, and the players responsible for them, to the teams that are investigating this problem further. As explained in the Status Report, the teams handling DDoS will continue to monitor and investigate these attacks and Support will continue to assist them by forwarding the reports we receive.

With all that being said, any help that we can get from the community is greatly appreciated! If you encounter these attacks in-game again, please grab some video evidence of your connection being interrupted during the match and upload it in a case or in a message on Facebook or Twitter. Our team would be more than happy to gather some additional information and pass your report along. I hope some of this information was helpful!

If you have any additional comments, thoughts, or opinions regarding this or anything else in Siege, please direct them to the Feedback subforums for better visibility from our team!
