This game originally came with my XBOX One S when I initially purchased it (included in the purchase; I paid for it. I haven't played it in a while. What I'm trying to figure out is, why is it that I can't play without purchasing the multiplayer, online service??? I DO NOT WANT TO PLAY ONLINE. So, why are you trying to force me to?

If I purchased this game with my console, I should be able to play it without HAVING TO play online!

Hey HicksFamily6ix,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

As it stands, in order to play the game, you will be required to have internet connection, as we do not have offline game mode feature however I am more than happy to pass your feedback to our game-team onboard.

In regards to the query of why you need to purchase the multiplayer online service on Xbox One in order to play online - this isn't something we're able to advise you on and you should refer regarding this to Microsoft Support for further assistance.

Should you have any questions, let us know!

As it turns out, one who purchases "RSS: UE" would, in fact, need to have the XBOX multiplayer online pass in order to simply play this game.

Whether that is the doing of Ubisoft or Microsoft/XBOX is moot at this point. The overarching reality is, it is stupid and counterproductive to force me (and others like me) to ONLY be able to play online. I recently purchased Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Ultimate Edition and this does NOT force the multiplayer only issue. SIDE NOTE: I would advise you, Ubisoft, NOT to EVER force that issue either. It's dumb. If I want to play online/multiplayer, THAT SHOULD BE MY CHOICE. Just like it should be my choice if I want to play solo/single campaigns against AI only.

At any rate, I have requested a refund of the $44.99+ tax that I paid for the game because I don't like the mode of play. I don't necessarily frequent the video game, FPS community, but I'm sure that the many negative comments I've seen regarding RSS is not an isolated situation. You all should REALLY reconsider making online/multiplayer ONLY games and NOT doing it. Give your customers CHOICE or your sales of your games will continue to dwindle until nothingness...

You make good games, I don't want to see that happen.
Thanks for sharing your feedback there and I will ensure it gets passed along to our team accordingly!
