DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

The game is getting Windows error e06d7363 in that dxdiag. It's not one I've seen before, until one other case a week or two ago, which I've not been able to solve yet, here's what I found on it:
The Windows 10 error ‘EXTERNAL EXCEPTION E06D7363’ occurs when a program tries to copy or move a locked file. It may be locked by Windows, your antivirus software or malware scanner, the error isn’t picky
https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq...-error-‘external-exception-e06d7363’.2752246/

And then we see this:
[14:23:39][virtualfilesystem_physfs.cpp:1193]: Could not open file: settings.txt, error: permission denied
What antivirus app do you use? Add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

sailorbilly said: when I launch stellaris I get the following error "Save Mod Load Order Failed. Please verify the launcher has access to documents folder. I can not see any of my mods. I have the same problem with HOI 4 also. I have launcher 2020.16
This is a completely unrelated problem to the one being discussed in this thread. In future please make your own new thread, thanks.

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods
- delete the folder Documents/paradox/HOI4/mod/
- delete the file Documents/paradox/HOI4/mods_registry.json
- delete the file Documents/paradox/HOI4/launcher-v2.sqlite
- subscribe to a few mods
- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

The same applies to Stellaris too.

I hope that does it for you!
