The current version should be 3.3.2 (87f3). If this is what your game says on the main screen, under "New Game" and "Multiplayer" then it's a bug, that you can report here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/stellaris-bug-reports.941/

If it says 3.3.2 and a different number than (87f3), you've got a mod that you haven't disabled yet, and that is likely causing your issue.

Say I have a bunch of mods installed (37) how would I go about figuring out which mod is causing the "AI empires without names" situation. Because there has to be a faster method than disabling (or uninstalling) each mod individually

Opening the error.log may give you some hint at what is causing the issue. You can find it here: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\logs. From there, you should be able to guess which mod could be causing issues by conflicts and/or errors that are listed.

One of the mod managers (Irony Mod Manager, I think) also checks to see if mods conflict with each other and/or the base game. I have never done this personally, so I can't attest to how to do it/how easy it is, or even if my information is correct. :D As well, be forewarned that Mod Managers are created by the Community and you use them at your own risk.
