[2023] multiplayer connecting forever and unable to join or invite to games

In our launcher Game Settings menu, choose Cross store MP. All your opponents will have to do the same, if on Steam.

Is that any better?  

That means your original problem was probably blocked Steam MP ports:

Do you perhaps have a new ISP or internet modem/router?
