I have played grey goo, and found it good as StarCraft. What recent games in this genre that are equal?

Our game, Stormgate, is a spiritual successor to the Blizzard-style RTS.

Our free Early Access release is this coming Tuesday, August 13. (You can buy an Early Access pack to get in now, but I would only recommend that if you are happy with playing games that are still in active development.)

Our dev team includes many team members who worked on StarCraft II, including our chief architect who was responsible for that game's pathfinding and game feel. Our team built tech (we call it SnowPlay) that layers onto Unreal Engine 5 that makes it the most powerful and responsive RTS engine to date. For example,we're 64-tick, meaning the client responds to player inputs 64 times per second--most RTS games are 8-tick, and SC2 was 22-tick, which is why it still feels so great to play. That tech also means we can do stuff like include rollback netcode for smooth online play, something you typically only see in fighting games.

We also have global matchmaking and are releasing our Early Access with 1v1 and 3p co-op gameplay, as well as an early look at our first few campaign missions (those are a work-in-progress, you may want to hold off until 1.0 if you're primarily a campaign player).

Our game isn't finished. We have a lot of work left to do to improve and polish the game, and more features to roll out, like our 3v3 mode and our powerful new editor, which players will be able to use to maps, mods, and custom games. That said, we're excited about the future--we just released a balance patch based on feedback from our preview and our players seem to be having fun. I hope to see you in-game!
