I notice the roadmap doesn't mention anything social, be it clans, chat rooms, challenges, anything. But I believe Stormgate was looking to be a "Truly Social RTS", and I certainly hope that hasn't fallen by the wayside.

I remember in Broodwar days, I hung out in 'places' like clan x17 and ~nohunters - just chat channels, but they felt like home and introduced me to many players to enjoy the game with. SC2 sure felt lonely, and without concerted effort, Stormgate will too.

We haven't forgotten--we still plan to add social features to Stormgate beyond the baseline Steam friends functionality. However, our current top priority is to improve the core game experience (including art, audio, performance, balance, etc.) guided by community feedback. We're excited to roll out those new social features, but they will come further down the line.

Additionally, we believe that offering a variety of fun multiplayer game modes, including an approachable competitive 3v3 mode (we're calling it Team Mayhem), co-op campaign, 3-player co-op missions, and any fun multiplayer custom games the community cooks up using our editor, will all help give friends lots of ways to enjoy the game together.
