I feel like this game could've done with more innovative features to help iterate on the next level of RTS.

When I saw WC3 for the first time with the heroes, items, and custom games. I was floored. I don't know the last time I really felt a large leap in the genre.

I’d also add 64-tick servers, global server infrastructure, rollback, and ongoing developer support with regular content updates.
