Hi Holotable Heroes,
The second group of Galactic Legends launches this week and we kick off the Developer Insights with one of the most iconic characters in Star Wars, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker! Both of these new Galactic Legends have the unique ability to change into their Ultimate form and lay waste to their enemies.
The Basics:

Jedi Master Luke Skywalker is the ultimate Tank for any Jedi squad.

Luke protects his Light Side allies, particularly his Jedi allies, when they drop below 100% Health

All Jedi are granted a new ability, Inherited Teachings, at the start of battle and can be used to call target Light Side ally to assist and deal True damage based off of Jedi Master Luke’s Max Protection.

His Special 2, Efflux, is an AoE attack that reduces the enemy’s Turn Meter, applies Ability Block and Breach while providing his Jedi allies Turn Meter.
Unique Attributes:

Jedi Master Luke Skywalker can transform into his incredibly powerful Heroic form and all Jedi allies gain Jedi Legacy, which provides +100% Mastery and the ability to ignore Taunt on their turn.

Similar to Wat Tambor’s Tech, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker automatically Taunts while he has Protection.

When a Jedi ally falls below 100% Health, Luke gains an unpreventable and undispellable Taunt (Taunt with a lock icon).

Luke can provide his allies with the Jedi Lesson’s buff which increases their Mastery with each stack.

The max cooldown for two of his abilities, They Grow Beyond and Efflux, is reduced by 2 when he transforms into Heroic Luke Skywalker
Inspiration:
This version of Luke explores his journey in The Last Jedi. By using the Transformation tech, we are able to not just mimic the Force Projection he does in the movie, but expand upon it.
While a reluctant teacher in TLJ, we wanted to lean into his time as a Master with Jedi Lessons, Inherited Teachings, and ultimately Jedi Legacy.
Though we don’t get to see Luke Skywalker use his powers too often in TLJ, the “Final Form” Luke Skywalker is worthy of Galactic Legend status.
One of our goals was to create a Jedi Leader ability that rivaled Jedi Knight Revan and was flexible enough to allow for a diverse set of Jedi squadmates.
The final tiers in the event contain some unexpected allies: the three Jedi who appeared to Luke after the destruction of the second Death Star, and his final student, Rey (Jedi Training) will fight alongside Luke on Crait.
Strategy Tips:

Use Special 2, Efflux, early to slow the enemy squad while boosting your own and tilt the combat in your favor as soon as possible.

While Inherited Teaching reduces the damage from the assisting ally, it can deal a heavy blow to the enemy due to the additional True Damage based off of Luke’s Max Protection. This also charges Luke’s Ultimate so you’ll want to use the granted ability as much as possible at the start of the fight.

Luke’s Taunt is not an ability you can activate, instead it's based on whether he has Protection. Keeping his Protection topped up as much as possible is key to keeping your squad alive.

Luke starts the battle with Jedi Legacy, which means he can immediately ignore Taunt and can call assists to also bypass Taunt.

Activating Luke’s Ultimate provides the squad with a new buff, Jedi Legacy, and power’s up Luke so use his Ultimate as soon as it's ready. No need to wait for the ideal moment like Galactic Legends Rey, Kylo or Sith Eternal Emperor.
Squad Suggestions:

Hermit Yoda - Healer/Support and can keep Protection on Luke and keep him taunting

General Skywalker and Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker are an excellent damage dealers

Revan - Savior provides more sustainable for Luke (usually since he’s Taunting)

We also designed Luke to be a very flexible lead if you don’t want to pull apart a squad that uses one of the units above:

Ezra Bridger - A solid damage dealing Jedi

Old Ben - Provides the squad with a back up Taunt and another Tank

Ki Adi Mundi - Overall has strong utility and a decent damage dealer

Grand Master Yoda - for DPS

FAQ:

The unit called to assist with Inherited Teachings deals True Damage but both receive Jedi Lessons.

His Ultimate ability provides a variety of buffs for his squad. In addition to giving all Jedi allies the Jedi Legacy buff and reducing maximum cooldown of two of his abilities, he also reset the cooldowns on all allies, buffs their Crit Chance, Crit Damage, and provides a ton of Offensive.

The Jedi Legacy Unique ability allows an ally to recover Health and Protection the first time it falls below 100% Health but this can occur only once per battle and does not reset between encounters

While Jedi Master Luke Skywalker is a solid member of a Jedi squad, he can reach his Ultimate much faster if he is in the leader slot.
