Any info on the new water physics?

Smooth water is in if you have Color lighting on. Trippy lighting does not support smooth water, even on PC.

The "ripples" are not in yet, DR team working on those for post release update - but didn't want to hold the launch for something so small.

PC x Mobile Crossplay 1.4

Mobile Terraria is currently on 1.4.0.5. Crossplay support is part of the dream, but not currently supported - so... caveat emptor on any attempts to mess with your stuff. ;)
