Terraria State of the Game - May 2023

Greetings Terrarians!

Things are certainly heating up outside - but the team has been able to keep its cool by continuing to push ahead with Terraria 1.4.5! We have had some successful localization tests this month (more on that below), while our good friends at DR Studios released 1.4.4.9.2 and have been hard at work fixing a handful of bugs that have cropped up on Console. We have enjoyed watching your reactions to our two big reveals over the last two weeks - hopefully we will have more to come as the years moves on. For now, let's settle in, grab a cold drink, and catch up on the latest and greatest happenings in the world of Terraria!

We are very excited to at long last be able to reveal that we are working with our good friends at Paper Fort Games on the official Terraria Board Game! As you can imagine, this is a huge project - and not one that we take lightly. I started playing terraria when 1.1 was released on mobile and put a total of 700 hours into it over the course of my young childhood early teenage years , so nice try, I guess? I played a lot from ages 10-13/14

I thought the creators response was funny but wasn't too happy to see the amount of people who stalked my page and started commenting and dming me calling me slurs and making rude comments on my looks, I respect redigit for responding since it was funny but all the terraria fans took at as a chance to harass me for my identity

Greetings Terrarians!

Can we just say that we are always so excited when Spring finally arrives? Everything turning green, the temperature outside finally making it pleasant to get outdoors - new life springing up everywhere. Sort of how it has felt on the Terraria teams as well, with everyone finding their stride again as we push towards the completion of the 1.4.5 update. Even so, it is hard not to look beyond that into the work in front of us to try and make crossplay a reality (no promises!) and whatever else lies ahead. This is a really exciting time for our team, and we hope that all of you are ready to embark on the journey ahead alongside us. However, that's a story for another State of the Game.
