Our team are currently investigating some crash issues, as @Traumahawk has very kindly relayed - thanks for sharing your insights!
That said, the vast majority of crashing issues are solved by local troubleshooting on the user end. To be clear, this isn't us blaming your computer or system as it may seem, but rather we are recognising that sometimes things can go wrong with a local install, particularly after an update (to the game, or to the operating system, or to other supporting programs), and some local troubleshooting can reset things to a more stable position.
Please have a read through our troubleshooting guide. In particular from the guide, please make sure you are running the game with administrator rights, you've verified the game files, you've got your graphics drivers and Windows install fully updated, and you've (at least temporarily, for testing) deactivated all background programs.
If the crashing is still happening after you've done that, please let us know. There are some more intensive steps we can take that use system files to more precisely diagnose the issue and suggest specific troubleshooting, so I'll explain how we go about that if need be
