Thank you for the reply @Traumahawk and for sharing this detail of the workaround.
For anyone else experiencing this exact crash when trying to claim the final loot crate, I can document this with our Division team so they are aware of it, but in order for them to investigate the issue, they will need system files from affected players as per any crashing issue with the game that we report to our Division QA team.
