I have seen this on the sidearm and other weapons (SMG, iirc). I have only captured it on the sidearm, but maybe other people have similar reports.

Thanks for reporting this! Did you by any chance notice any specific actions that caused the scope to appear as it did, or was it at random?

Thanks for the additional information. The way you describe it, it's a display issue as a result of "rapidly" changing gear/loadouts.
