How have you guys not fixed the problem of sudden FPS drops?

I use 2080 (so it's similar to your 2070S) and notice no issue here (frame locked on 141fps). But I do not use SSAA (1440P with HQ TAA).

I merged in your posts from both threads here.

Where are you seeing that stuff about texture.png? I don't see that file on my system.

And, when you did the clean reinstalls did you delete the Documents/paradox interactive/ck3/ folder as well?

Can i get you to do a clean reinstall once more please?

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

I'd hold off on that for the time being, see if the situation develops or changes. If you have a gradually failing piece of hardware, it may not be until it completely fails that it becomes obvious what the problem part is.

Hey @Juhui, thanks for getting in touch and apologies about the delayed response.

Would you be able to elaborate a little about the FPS issue you've brought up? Also, what platform are you playing on and if you are playing on PC, are you using Vulkan or DX API?

Let us know and we will take it from there!

yes, nvidia experience.
i turned off shadow play.

i have dual monitor, if that matter.
i'm using bordeless window. HDR on.

the fps is better in certain zoom. so if the game stutter, or low on fps. i zoom in/out until it gets better. weird i know. i also don't understand what causing it.
i understand if i got low fps in late game or when horde come. but this could happen when i just started a game

i open performance task manager while playing. and none were reaching max usage.

Turn off Vsync in the Nvidia control panel. I mean off. Not auto. On and auto lower the game's fps for no reason. My game gets locked to about 80fps with lots of stutters with it on auto, 150+ with it off. In game setting doesn't do anything for me.

Turn off HPET in your motherboard's BIOS, if available. This should improve performance in most games, not just TAB.

Careful with Fast Optimization Timers. Enabling it will make the game tick faster, as if you pressed a fast forward button.
i tried turning on/off vysinc, fast optimization.
nothing really matter.

funny thing is. i play it more smoothly in my laptop.
using vega gpu. lol.

I don't remember exactly but the same problem you are suffering was the same for another user and he changed some option inside Nvidia Xperience software and he fixed it. The problem is that I don't remenber what exactly this user did.
