Please, if you have any problem with zombies spawning in your base do a full reinstallation of you game deleting even the container folder of the previous game installation.

Do you suffer this issue every time you play the game and whatever game mode you use?

Usually this cases of error are brought along by the writing permission blocked by antivirus, firewall or realtime scanners. Check them all please.

As the ZXlog says, all is related to a bad installation of SlimDX. Make sure that there is nothing blocking a proper installation of this tool. Antivirus, firewalls and specifically real time scanners usually block this.

They can spawn anywhere along the map edges but always is said the edge from they are are coming. Also you have to take into account that a natural obtacle like forest or mountains can change the horde's direction so you have to watch it meticuluosly.
