Since a recent update there has been a bug where if you hit a plastic wall while on ice (including the walls that are supposed to give you an acceleration penalty) you can get a massive speed boost. Here's some examples:

I'm hoping this can be fixed as it will likely make ice records impossible to get without using the extremely lucky bug on certain tracks. Hope this helps
