So Recently i've been playing Kacky Reloaded event, and I noticed a couple of problems related to this new TM being unable to handle a high amount of players at once.
For reference : Kacky Reloaded servers run with 50+ or even 80+ Players on the same Server.
They are dedicated servers, but the issues I will talk about are related to the game itself and not the server handling the load.
fyi I've seen these issues on other servers as well (but less often, simply because other servers doesn't have so much players player together so often).
Problem 1 :
FPS drops, especialy with Red boosters for exemple, the simple fact of having a lot of players make the fps dies, especialy at map start when everyone start together you can even get multiple seconds Freeze when everyone get on the boosters, and overall fps are constantly lower than on an empty server. Problem is that these FPS drops are not "because there is so much car to show", it's occuring WHILE CARS OFF. I'm virtualy alone on the map, everyone else is hidden, yet that occure regardless.
Problem 2 :
Players randomly showing up WHILE CARS OFF. Yes, I have no idea how that even occure, but you play cars off and some players randomly shows up (usualy at distance)
Problem 3 :
Everytime you restart, everyone else car disapear during countdown, BUT when they reappear (when you start) none is moving anymore, it needs a good dozen of seconds for everyone position to update and start moving, and another dozen so they start moving PROPERLY (aka not seen as going through walls and thing like that).
Considering many maps are 10 - 40s long, you will often restart in less than 20s, so it mean if you play with cars on, you will always see other players standing still in weird positions or driving through structures and other nonsense. Basicaly forcing you to play cars off because it's unplayable otherwise.
I think this could be resolved if other players simply were not dispawning during countdown (aka, never dispawn), which I dont even understand why they are dispawning in the first place, it's a very useless and anoying thing (feature ahah), especialy when you're trying to change Cars on/off option during countdown for exemple.
Problem 2 is no big deal, just a bit spooky, but 3 and 2 really need to be looked (and fixed) at as soon as possible.
