It comes down to cheer luck who's gonna be in the smaller selection for TOTD, since if you're unlucky you'll get some trolls who downvote your map on purpose, this happened to me three times or so. I'm sorry to hear some players downvoted you without good reason. A vote system is a great way to gather feedback from players, however there's always a chance not everyone will be honest.
