So I have this issue sometimes, but when you get a ring CP or wallride CP, and you don't get enough speed to continue, it is possible to get completely stuck on a track.
In this scenario respawn just gives you the same, broken trajectory which doesn't work. Furthermore, if you try to double tap respawn it does nothing different.
What I think should happen in this scenario is if you tap respawn twice, it should send you to the previous respawnable CP.
