Me and a friend of mine pretty much exclusively play Trackmania and we play a ton of Royal. He had trouble with joinbugs a lot back in the day, but those where easily fixable with a open planet plug-in. However ever since July he has a new joinbug, that can't be avoided with the Plug-in.
Instead of being stuck in spectator mode he is now stuck in a birds-eye perspective with no information about the teams, the scores and no option to leave the match. He can move the camera, but nothing more. If he wants to leave and try to rejoin he has to completley close the game from the task manager.
(We both own the game in club access so he can still chat in the birds-eye view)
It has gotten to the point of us rarely being able to play Royal at all. That really stops us from starting the game more often, because chances are we won't even be able to play it.
He plays on a somewhat low end laptop, but he can still play with a decent framerate. And every other gamemode also works.
But still it really only seems to be a problem with his laptop. The game always connects on my Laptop (3070,Ryzen 9), my PC (3080,Ryzen 7), my Steamdeck and even on my brothers Laptop(940m,i5).
We really hope that the bug will be resolved soon, but as of late most updates only made it worse. Maybe someone out there has some ideas on how to fix that.
