Is it possible to set up a lobby for just me and my friends on local network, ive created a room and invited them but neither can join the gamr they just get 'could not connect to server'. Do we have to purchase the club version instead of standard and then create a club and join that way? if so its rather annoying ive already spent £9 and have to spend another £25?any help?

Great question, I have just tried this myself and you can indeed do this. To do this please try the following steps:
On main menu tap on 'Local' > Then 'Local network' > 'Create' >Set your game mode, match settings and maps > Set room rules
From this your friends should be able to join, just let us know if you have any trouble
